Hard Days!!!

God!… Is been a while, huh?… Since FRI joined the band again, we’ve made a Live covers album, shirts for the in&out, new gear, and so on….

Anyway…The thing is that the we’re still working on A NEW “AWAKENING”…..
…and if you see me at In&Out without shave myself.. is because I promise to myself no shave until we finish the album… ( maybe I’ll be ne next ZZ top member…. I hope NO!!)

Two new songs will be on the album… a Fri’s songs … Human Again and Life! … Street of Souls and Felligs will be not on the CD.. Why?… dunno! …
SOS is just available on the Follow Me – EP ( btw…Sold Out right now)…

Im just finish to recorded the guitas of Human Again… 6:40 am of the friday April 17th… the birds are singing outside…is now 7:13am… I want to go to bed…!!!

We have a new drummer (read about this on soundchaser.net) nevertheless doesn’t mean that we gonna change the tracks or something like that… I’ve been working on this album for a long time, very hard, and will be ready ASAP… so we don’t stop… the bass tracks are almost ready…

This weekend we will start with the Kys parts. Penny’s Yamaha Motif XS is our gear!…

Also, we are recording now some others ideas and songs … maybe we going to include something more on the album (for the japan version, hehehe)… we still have the same energy and enthusiasm than before… or even more….

Sorry if I dont post anything these past days, I have “the F%$@ Flu” … like a dead corpse… But Im feeling better now… so today I’ll retake my place in front of the mac again to continue with the bass and Guitar tracks!!!..

fast, good and powerful!

Today I have finished all the mixes of all the drums parts, and also I have recorded the rhythms guitars of Shadows, A New Awakening and Get out of my Way…  I’ve spend like 4 hours in front of the monitors trying to find the best sound and way to play on this record.

I have found an amazing guitar sound between the tube screamer pedal and a Peavy 550 amp on my GT-PRO. I prefer a thousand times Boss than the Line 6 effects. that’s why i use a boss GT-8 on stage… easy, light and raw.

The “A new awakening” song also have the keys parts ready, Penny recorded this song a few moths ago. so we decide to use this parts on the album because have the right synth sound for the solo and intro/outro…  (Yes… A keyboard solo… ) … she uses for the song her old Roland XP-30 …

And to be honest, the best keys sounds are on the demos…. on the demos I’ve recorded the bass guitars part to give to Penny a reference… but she’s better bass player than me.. and have a better ear to find the right keys sounds for songs.

… Art talk….

Today I held a meeting with one of my favorites guitar players on this island. Mr. Ivan Ruiz from the band Meridian Zero, our ” brothers of metal”.. Ivan also have been working on different projects in many different areas like television and graphic designs, so I do not hesitate to invite him to be part of our “new awake” on different ways. (soon you’ll understand this ) We were talking about the design of the CD cover and the hold art of the album.

Also we was talking about a promo video, ideas , locations and so on.

Ivan is working with is  “creative crew”…in this team works one of the greatest photographers that I have ever seen in this island. Mr. German Gonzalez … and of course German will be the guy behind the lent.

So today was a very “art ideas” day…

The Drums Tracks

Today I’ve been working on the drums tracks… is a very tough job to do when you have to mix all the drums tracks with the same sound in a digital mixer… I had to save all the channels options and volumes, fx channels, etc etc…

Elio have his own studio on his house… so we are working in two places at the same time, which is really cool to save time on the studio. I’ve used a really nice compression which is into the Cubase studio 4 plug-ins…. and a Waves reverb for the snare…

Is a shame … but I’ve decided to write this blog when all the drum parts are already recorded… but maybe I’ll upload some photos of Elio’s studio on the recording process. But anyway I’ll post some stuff about the bass, keys, guitar and Vocal parts.
